Mobile Lab

The MBJ Mobile Lab 5.0 combines an A+A+A+ LED solar simulator according to IEC 60904-9 Ed.3 with a high resolution electroluminescence test system. The mobile laboratory for solar modules enables standard compliant and precise on-site testing at high throughput.

In addition to power measurement and electroluminescence in the basic scope, the laboratory also includes connection testing and testing of bypass diodes. Modules up to a size of 1400 x 2700 mm can be measured.

Designed for mobile use

The Mobile Lab has been completely revised for the 5th generation. To make it even better for on-site testing of PV modules, we have significantly reduced the system size and complexity. At the same time, the performance has not been reduced. It has all the measurement and test procedures required for an objective evaluation of solar modules in the field. Thus, underperformance, but also hidden defects such as micro-cracks or inactive areas as well as hotspots in the module can be detected quickly and reliably.

The mobile laboratory contains a LED solar simulator of the latest generation, with a light source built according to IEC 60904-9 Ed.3 and classes A+A+A+. The 13 different LED types achieve a very good imaging of the solar spectrum. The achieved extension of the spectrum, especially in the UV and IR range, allows a precise measurement of various module types, including thin film, PERC and HJT based modules.

After the module measurements, a comprehensive test report with statistical analysis can be exported in PDF format.
