Many image processing tasks are found in production environments that place special demands on the inspection system. There it can be very dusty and dirty or, if we think of the food or pharmaceutical industry, work is carried out under special hygienic requirements and the components must be easy to clean. This requires the lighting and inspection systems to be dust proof and waterproof.
After many requests from our customers, the time has finally come! MBJ offers IP67 for many of its standard lights as an optional feature.
The abbreviation IP stands for "International Protection". The first digit, here "6", of the IP classification means that the device is dust-tight and completely protected against contact from the outside.
The second digit, here "7", indicates the water resistance of the devices. To be precise, the number 7 stands for "temporary submersion." This means that the device can be submerged in water up to a depth of one meter for up to half an hour. It should be noted here that the protection is only valid in clear water. In Germany, the IP standard 67 is regulated by the DIN EN 60529 standard.
